I am very pleased to have worked across key stages of the project here at Curtis Schwartz Studio, from recording through to the final stereo, 5.1 Surround and Dolby Atmos mixes, as well as mastering across the digital, CD, vinyl and Blu-ray formats.
Aurora is the third YES studio album in a row to have involved the studio, following The Quest and Mirror to the Sky. Working again with Steve Howe and the band has been a real privilege.
This was a full album project in the best sense: detailed recording, careful editing, stereo mixing, immersive Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround work, mastering, and final delivery. It is exactly the sort of record I love working on: ambitious, musical, intricate, and made with real care.
It has also been lovely to see the studio’s involvement mentioned in the official announcement and in early coverage from YES, Prog Report and Rockum.
For artists, producers and labels looking for recording, mixing, mastering or Dolby Atmos album mixing in a private residential studio near London, the full Aurora case study gives more detail about the process.
